Together we'll walk the well-worn paths of the ancient and spiritual mountain of Ben Ledi, near Callander. This 10km walk will take in sights including Rock of Embers and a panoramic view of the Highlands, and will be themed around sanctuary and refugees.

It's free to take part in this pilgrimage, however you are encouraged to raise funds for a project or charity which works with refugees, especially one with a faith basis.

Sunday 10 September 2017, 11am and 2pm starts
Whitelee Windfarm, Eaglesham, G76 0QQ

Today, tens of millions of people across the globe are fleeing their homes because of war, conflict and disaster.

In some places, the fighting is so bad, and the situation so dangerous, that people decide they have no choice but to try to take risky journeys to places of safety. The journeys facing refugees are often incredibly tough – and the choices they have to make along the way might be even tougher.

The Safe Place Challenge is a new outdoor adventure to help young Christian Aid supporters understand how to survive without home comforts. You and your youth group will work together to complete basic survival skill challenges including building a shelter, making a fire and finding clean water.

Free to enter, with a £100 sponsorship target per group.

Groups can take part in an early session from 11am-2pm or a later session from 2-5pm.

Please register via Eventbrite for the morning session or the afternoon session.

For more information, please email Fiona Buchanan or call our Edinburgh office on 0131 220 1254.
