Will Aid

Will Aid logoHaving your will professionally written can give you and your loved ones a sense of security and peace of mind.

Every November, solicitors across the country participate in Will Aid month. They give their time and expertise to draw up your Will and only ask for a suggested voluntary donation to one of nine charities, of which Christian Aid is one.

Will Aid is a great opportunity for you to not only get your affairs in order, but at the same time help thousands of people in need around the world.

During its history over 275,000 people have made their Will with Will Aid, raising over £100 million for a range of good causes, both in the UK and across the world.

How Will Aid works

Naomi Pinder, a Christian Aid supporter and solicitor in Liverpool, talks about Will Aid and how she saw at first hand the impact donations have when she visited communities we help in Haiti.

In 2014, Christian Aid received over £200,000 in donations from people making and updating their Wills through Will Aid.  During the Will Aid campaign last year, over 70 people chose to remember Christian Aid with a gift in their Will.

How do I find a participating solicitor?

The Will Aid website – willaid.org.uk – has a list of all participating solicitors in your area.  Alternatively, you can call the Will Aid hotline on 0300 0300 013.

Once you’ve found a solicitor, you can contact them directly and ask to make an appointment under the Will Aid scheme.

You can also call us on 020 7523 2177 and we’ll help arrange a convenient appointment for you.

We do advise you to start making enquiries in early September because Will Aid appointments are often booked up very quickly.

Making a donation to Will Aid

Your donation is voluntary, but we invite you to consider the suggested levels of donation when writing or revising your Will through Will Aid.

  • £95 for a single Will
